Swamp People In My Wild Louisiana

As my reality TV show is taking shape, I will be interviewing old timers to participate in programs. This new blog will feature personalities who have influenced my life and in some cases are living legends.

I am starting with my old friend Louis, who I met on the set of the movie "Belizaire the Cajun" in 1984.


Louis is the man who advised me in 1985, to build a houseboat and move to the Basin,



and I think he assumed I would use it like most people: a weekend getaway, or camp as we say in south Louisiana.

As you can see in the photo below circa 1992, my houseboat was a permanent residence.



So back to Louis...

Louis was a commercial fisherman in the Atchafalaya Basin Swamp, oil field worker, swamp guide, cook, and a survivor of the D Day invasion of Normandy Beach.

I am on my way to the Blue Dog Cafe for Sunday Brunch, so I will leave it at that for now. But, I will research more about Louis and edit this post later.
